And dreadlocks isn't the appropriate term anyway. Smh🙄

@mel I'm disappointed and offended at the same time

Here we go, black black black victim victim victim. Shutup black girls, seriously. You are the only ones who are counting yourselves out, by constantly making yourself victims. I think everyone commenting on this post is ignorant, naive, and into themselves

Honestly, I like to see white women rocking dreads... Personally I would never grow dreads because I think it's unattractive. I know I'm causing some controversy but that's my opinion. It is what it is #racheldolezal

@brittanyBAKER you are missing the point completely. This article is clearly appropriation of black culture which manages to exclude black people altogether. I mean really? REALLY? If this post was all black women then it would make alot more sense because it is a part of our culture. It is great white people want to be a part of that but for goodness sake don't come along and wipe us out of the picture as if it had no origin in black culture. Which is, in effect, what the author of this article has done. That and the fact that she has taken for granted that people of colour follow the articles on this app and enjoy them. Very very disturbing and disappointing.

So many women of color with dreds and not one ! Wow

With deadlocks starting in the black race you'd think you'd feature them also #shady

Dreads on white people are disgusting for one huge reason. It's not their natural texture. Black people can have dreads while STILL having healthy hair because their texture is usually different. However, straight hair is not the same so in order to have dreads, they literally need to neglect their hair. Not wash it for weeks and put stuff in it so that it gets matted. If that's not disgusting to you, I don't know what is.

I'm with @shanianawaz! I apologize @leeahlaani, you're correct. I used the wrong word, however everyone is still making a big fuss for nothing. If this was an article with all black women in dreads then everyone would be on the other side saying "why is it only black girls?! Why can't white girls have dreadlocks?!" .... My point is, everyone blows things way out of proportion these days. No matter what it is.

@shanianwaz I don't think thats the only problem. For years dreads meant dirty, poor, not clean, etc. Some people with this hairstyle that are brown skinned can't get a job because of this. I love how these women are appreciating the hairstyle. I don't care for that. But damn it lesst ONE brown person should be listed on this. And Ancient Egyptians have traces of african ancestry as well. Indians are considered brown skin people too. Not that all is indian whose religion is Hinduism.
