7 Natural and Logical Reasons to Cut Your Hair Short ...

I can think of a few reasons to cut your hair short, can you? Most of my life I was known for having long hair but I always wanted to know what it was like to have short hair. I noticed women with short hair and how it framed their faces and how confident they seemed, and I wanted to know what that was like. So around my 26th birthday I went for it. It was one of the best decisions of my life and I wanted to share with you a few reasons to cut your hair short too, if you are considering it.

Confidence

Confidence tops this list of reasons to cut your hair short because you will grow in it whether you intend to or not. It's easy to use your hair as a blanket to hide behind, so if it's not there you'll have no choice but to be bold. There is so much value placed on hair, sometimes too much in my opinion. I think it's easy to feel confident with a head full of flowing hair because that is the image we are usually shown as beautiful. But can you be confident without the long flowing hair? If so, you will find that your confidence will come from a deeper internal place.

Revelation

When I cut my hair off I learned a lot about myself and the people around me quickly. I thought that my longer straighter hair was prettier than my naturally curly hair. I didn't realize it when I wore my hair straight, it wasn't until after I chopped it off that I had this revelation. I also learned that me cutting my hair made many people uncomfortable because in their eyes it was a bit rebellious. Women would come up to me often and share that they wished they could do it but wouldn't dare. This lead to many interesting conversations.

Fresh Start

I've known women who have cut their hair short after a major life change or, even better, before the major change happened. They say that a woman who cuts off her hair is about to change her life and I must say I have noticed the correlation. I think it's an easy way to mark your fresh start in life. Maybe you are ending a long dead end relationship, or maybe you are moving to another country and a hair cut will add to the excitement.

UPD:

A short hair cut can be a great way to start fresh with a new look and a new attitude. It can be a sign of a new beginning, a way to break away from the past and create a new identity. Short hair can be a symbol of freedom and independence, especially when it comes to making major life changes. It can also be a way to express individuality, showing that you are not afraid to stand out from the crowd.

When it comes to short hair, there are many styles to choose from. Depending on the shape of your face, you can choose a classic bob, a pixie cut, a shag, or even a buzz cut. Short hair can also be styled in various ways to create a unique look. For example, you can add texture with curls or waves, or you can add volume with a blowout.

Short hair is also low maintenance and easy to manage. It requires less time to style and less product to keep it looking fresh. It can also be a great way to save money on hair care products since you won't need as much. Plus, short hair is easier to keep clean since there is less surface area to clean.

Inspiration

I think that cutting your hair short is another way to inspire others. I have a friend who cut her hair short and donated her beautiful locks to an organization that made wigs for ladies with cancer. Her hair is back to the length it was before and someone out there in the world has a beautiful wig to get them through a difficult time in life.

Your Face

When you cut your hair short you may notice that people give you double and triple takes. You also may notice things about your face that you never noticed before. This is because your face is going to be on display. You'll be like one of those fabulous busts you see on display in a museum with your face all out. You will probably feel vulnerable the first week but that quickly passes and the payoff will be worth the vulnerability.

UPD:

Without the curtain of long tresses, your facial features, from those arched eyebrows to the curve of your jawline, become more pronounced. It's a chance to rediscover your cheekbones and play up your eyes with makeup, or simply revel in the simplicity of a bare face. This newfound visibility can boost your confidence, encouraging you to experiment with bold jewelry or vibrant lip colors that celebrate your features. Embrace the spotlight – your face is now the star of the show!

Change

Another natural reason to cut your hair short is because you want, or need, a change. I cut my hair off after I graduated college. I wore my hair the same way from the time I was in middle school until my early 20s. I colored it a few times but that eventually got old. So I wanted a really big change and the biggest change I could think of was short hair. The cool thing about this change is that if you decide to grow it long again, you will go through several lengths and can have fun along the way with each.

UPD:

Sometimes we reach milestones or crossroads in our lives, like a career shift, ending or starting a relationship, or moving to a new place. These moments can inspire a fresh start, and a bold haircut can be a potent symbol of that new chapter. You'll feel liberated, like you're shedding an old identity and stepping into a new persona. It's a tangible sign of renewal, and as your hair grows back, so does your connection to this new phase of your life. Plus, it's incredibly empowering to rock a style that says, "This is me now."

Quick Routine

Wash and go, ladies! I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was to get ready in the morning when my hair was short. I just had to run some leave in conditioner and apply a little makeup and voila! My morning routine took 10 minutes tops. Short hair is also great if you work out often because you can wash and go when you're finished breaking a sweat.

I guess short hair isn't for everyone. But if you have ever considered cutting your hair short for a season then I hope this list encouraged you. Have you taken the leap yet and done it or are you still thinking about it? If so, what is stopping you?

UPD:

Short hair has many benefits for women. It is a great way to change up your look, save time in the morning, and stay cool in the summer. It is also a great choice for those who work out often, as it is easy to wash and go when you're finished.

Short hair can be flattering on all face shapes, and it is a great way to show off your features. It can be styled in many different ways, from sleek and straight to curly and voluminous. It can also be easier to manage than long hair, as it requires less maintenance and fewer products.

Short hair can also be a great way to make a statement. Whether you are going for a pixie cut, a bob, or something in between, short hair can be a great way to show off your personality. You can also accessorize your short hair with clips, pins, and headbands for a fun and unique look.

Short hair can also be a great way to save time in the morning. With short hair, you can easily wash and go, and you don't have to worry about spending hours styling and blow drying it. This can be a great time saver for those with busy schedules.

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Long hair is beautiful, sexy, lots of work, can do many styles, braid's, ponytails, ect hot in the summer warm in winter. Short hair is sexy and beautiful too! Less conditioner lol no more heavy ponytails and is sometimes a lifestyle change for that person, Bold, sexy, spunky. Hair grows back if you don't like it or hair extensions, try a short wig first!

I plan to keep my hair long while I can, one day my hair will be thinning and I won't be able to enjoy it. I've considered cutting my hair but I'm not ready to make that move just yet

I had super long hair and I cut it off to donate it. I loves my short hair look, but I have to disagree with point #7. I never had a bad hair day with long hair because a ponytail is always an option. With short hair I actually had to take the time to do my hair and if it didn't turn out right I was stuck with it for the day, even after all that effort. Plus, without a ponytail for workouts, the sweat would drip off my hair into my face instead of just absorbing into my hair.

I want to, but I feel like it would bee to much. My mom is a delicate woman and my cousins already pick at me every time we have birthdays and visit because I have a damn lip piercing. I'm a vegetarian and that already cuts me out and makes me different. Though I would love short hair, I just think i would be too different and sometimes too much of something isn't good.

I have a friend who cut off her beautiful long straight hair just because her boyfriend didn't like it not only did he force her to get a pixie cut, but after a month broke up with her. She was saddened by it, but she appeared more confident and dyed her hair red brown not only was she confident but she was happy as well :)

In June I cut off 13 inches and gave it to locks of love . I adore my shirt hair and right now it's a bob. I'm thinking about getting a pixie cut.

I've had short hair my whole life and all these things are true!!
