Seasonal hair shedding is such a nightmare! It doesn’t get so serious for me every season or even every year but once it does, I swear to you ladies, I have a feeling I’ll either go bald or go crazy! I wasted a lot of nerves until I’ve discovered how to cope with hair shedding and I must tell you, there are ways to make sure even the most serious of shedding doesn’t bother you that much. You don’t have anything to risk but a few minutes of your time! Take a look at this list of easy cures for hair shedding problems that have been driving you crazy, try them out and start enjoying every season:

1

Brush More Often

Once the seasonal hair shedding starts showing its ugly face, even us ladies with wavy to curly hair have to start working on our relationship with a brush or a comb! I know, I know, it ruins the curls and makes your hair look like you’ve been playing with high voltage, but it’s the only way to get rid of the dead hairs stuck in the mass of healthy, live ones. I usually comb mine twice- once in the morning and once before bed but you can do it more often if you’d like. Oh, and in case you’re worried this will mess up your curls, here’s the trick – run wet fingers through your hair once you’re done brushing (or spritz some water in case this happens to be a more convenient option for you) and give your curls about 15-30 minutes to air dry and regroup.

2

Leave Your Hair Loose

Oh yes, well we mustn’t forget this handy cure for hair shedding! Take your pick amongst tons of great styles to help you look your best each day but remember to untie your hair while chilling in the comfort of your own home. Styles that put a lot of stress onto your scalp and roots are not the most ideal choice for all day round wear anyways! And that’s not all – ponytails and buns won’t let the loose hairs fall out naturally, increasing the chances of them getting all tangled with the healthy ones as well as the risk of damaging your hair while trying to detangle and remove dead hairs.

3

Avoid Heavy Styling Products

Next on my list of potential quick cures for hair shedding that just goes on and on, threatening to drive you crazy follows the same principle. You don’t want dead hairs sticking and tangling with your healthy ones! The solution? Avoid mousses, hair gels and all the other products that make your hair sticky. We’re not talking about long-term commitment here, of course, just something you may want to think about in those days when your hair seems to shed more than it grows.

4

Experiment with Bangs

Once the seasonal hair shedding had stopped (or you’re at least getting there) you’ll probably end up dealing with a lot of baby hair and enough problems to make Jay Z’s 99 seem like a picnic! Do not, and I repeat, do not freak out! Now’s the perfect time to give bangs a go. A stylish full fringe will help you hide that unruly peach fuzz at your hairline and oh, here’s a happy thought – the worst of shedding usually happens in autumn or early spring which means you’ll definitely have enough time to grow out your bangs before the next hot summer!

5

Style It Right

Speaking about baby hairs, fuzz, frizz and all the styling-related ideas to help you learn how to deal with hair shedding and all the post-shedding drama – let’s not forget the almighty styling tips and products that allow us to turn even the worst of bad hair days into a visual equivalent of Sam Jones’ famous “Hello, I’m Fabulous” line! Remember what I told you about ditching heavy styling products? Well, you can forget about it at this point! Once all the old hair has fallen out and there’s tons of new frizzies to worry about, you could use all the help a hairspray, gel, pomade and sleek&shine serum can provide! Use gels and hair sprays to nail down a perfectly glamorous sleek bun or chignon or opt for a shine serum to help smooth down those tiny antennas rising from your part in case you’re planning to wear your hair loose.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Avoid Certain Colors and/or Fabrics

It’s actually quite simple – in case your hair is dark, you should probably stick to darker colors and vice versa. It’s not a rule you should follow for months thus limiting your outfit choices, merely a cool trick to help you look your best even in those days when the shedding gets unbearable. Choose your fabrics carefully as well! Rougher or static-y fabrics will prolong your agony and make the loose hairs stick while silkier, softer or less static-prone ones help them roll off undetected, reducing the risk of realizing that you’ve been walking all day with enough dead hair to make Lady Gaga’s next red carpet outfit all stuck to the back of your blouse!

7

Leave Seductive Moves Aside

First date, prefect outfit, he’s gorgeous, everything feels right – a perfect moment to casually run your fingers through your hair… a trick that works like a charm every time. Alas, now is not the perfect time for it! This seduction trick may backfire in times when you’re experiencing seasonal hair shedding and yes, it has everything to do with the fact that casually running your fingers through the hair may mean they’ll emerge covered with dead hairs. Eww… not a pretty sight and oh – trying to be just as casual while tossing the results of your hair excavations on the floor is not hot.

How do you cope with seasonal hair shedding? Like, on a scale of one to ten – how much does it bother you? I’m a 10… maybe even an 11! And in case you know of a cure for hair shedding problems that I haven’t figured out by now, I definitely want to know about it!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I don't have many tangles usually, so I use my wide tooth comb in the shower after my conditioner has settled into my hair for two minutes or so.. Pulls out a lot of dead hair, and lets them slide out easily instead of tearing and pulling on other healthy hairs!

I have found an amazing (and inexpensive) shampoo
