8 Amazing Hair Oils to Fight Winter Frizz ...

By Kati

Are you using hair oils yet? It feels like hair experts have been singing their praises for years now, and celebrities certainly swear by them. Jennifer Aniston, for example, regularly credits her shiny, strong and swishy hair down to using hair oils regularly. If you don’t want to (or can’t afford to) visit the salon for a regular treatment, though, can you get the same results at home? Here are the hair oils I’ve tried and tested…

Bumble and Bumble

Bumble and Bumble Bumble and Bumble is one of the first hair oils I tried. Their Hairdresser's Invisible Oil is just so easy to apply, and that’s essential when you’ve got fine hair! It’s one of the most lightweight oils I’ve found, which makes it super easy to use, too. Just spray a fine coat onto damp hair, and you’re done. Spritzing it onto dry ends gives a great glossy look, too.

L’oreal Professional Mythic Oil

L’oreal Professional Mythic Oil Mythic Oil has been touted as the cult product of 2013, so it’s no wonder that it’s selling well! L’Oreal has kept it easy to use, using a pump system to ensure that the right amount of oil is easily dispatched. Just pump one pump onto damp hair, and you’ll have supple, soft hair in no time. It’s perfect for people who want to do their hair quickly, without any fuss.

John Frieda Repairing Oil Elixir

John Frieda Repairing Oil Elixir John Frieda makes some great products, and this oil is definitely one of them. If you regularly push your hair to its limits with dye, straightening or blow-drying, this is the oil for you. It’s full of deep-conditioning omega 3 and fatty acids, so as well as giving you glossy, shiny hair, it’s a deep conditioning treatment that makes hair flexible and bouncy once more. It’s a beauty table essential.

3

Percy and Reed No Oil Oil

Percy and Reed No Oil Oil I love this – it’s got such a pretty bottle! No Oil Oil is designed to be light, and it’s full of good vitamins, too. Vitamin B5 will condition your hair throughout the day, and it even contains pomegranate seed oil, which fights frizz to keep your style looking good. Use it really sparingly, though, as a little goes a really long way.

4

Redken Diamond Oil

Redken Diamond Oil This launched into salons back in September, and I was desperate to get my hands on it. It’s even got a waiting list! This silicone-free treatment is made up of 99% natural oils, which coat your hair in protein molecules. The oils deeply penetrate hair, conditioning it whilst strengthening it. The smell is lovely, too.

Toni and Guy Curl Defining Oil

Toni and Guy Curl Defining Oil Got curly hair? This is the oil for you. I had a friend with gorgeous natural curls test this one, and it’s become her go-to product. As well as giving glossy hair, this oil tames frizz, and gives curls plenty more definition. Apply to damp hair, through the mid-lengths and ends, for a showstopping finish.

Unite U Luxury D Frizz

Unite U Luxury D Frizz This is a heavy-duty spray, which aims to condition as well as gloss. One spritz will tame hair, including reducing frizz, and it’s really easy to brush through the lengths. The little bottle is great for carrying around in a clutch bag, too! One spray is plenty, and it works without leaving that greasy residue that so many heavy-duty products have.

TRESemme Liquid Gold Argan Oil

TRESemme Liquid Gold Argan Oil Argan Oil is the holy grail of hair oils, and this TRESemme version is one of the cheapest ones I could find. Does that affect quality, though? It didn’t seem too. This oil transformed my frizzy post-swimming hair into soft, supple lengths that were much easier to style. It’s small enough to carry round with me, and you don’t need to reapply regularly. Win.

I’m definitely going to trial using hair oils more. I just love how glossy my hair looks when I use them, and they’ve made that post-swim mess so much easier to deal with! It’s great for conditioning on-the-go, too. Have you tried any hair oils? I’d love to see what you’re using!
