By Keyaani

2017 has seen some up can coming hair trends that you'll definitely want to give a go. Getting a new hairstyle, cut and colour is liberating and reinvents your overall look.

I personally love experimenting with different hair trends some are more successful than others. I keep reminding myself that hair grows so why not take the plunge. If you're looking for a new edgy look or just want a subtle upgrade to your locks then these hair tutorials are for you and are a great way to get some hair inspiration.

1 The Voluminous Faux Perm at 2:43

Adding texture to your hair through tight corkscrew curls is one of the hottest hair trends of 2017. Celebrities such as Rihanna and Fearne Cotton have supported this look. It is a bold statement hairstyle. Don't worry about looking too 80's with this look, the bigger the better and you can style it after it's curled. This look is time-consuming, as each section of hair has to be curled individually so patience is fundamental.

If you have thick straight hair this could be a tedious task but the end look is worth it. It is a dramatic, fun and edgy hairstyle great for parties. A super dramatic version of this look was showcased at New York Fashion week, spring 2017 by the models of ‘The Blonds'.

2 The Super Straight Styling

On the other end of the spectrum from the voluminous curls, 2017 hair trend is about the sleek straight hair. The straightened hair trend was seen at several fashion week catwalks. From Victoria Beckham models supporting this look at New York fashion week, to 'it' girls Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid rocking this sleek and polished hairstyle.

This look is easy to create so it's time to bring out your hair straighteners ladies, be sure to use heat protection spray. One of my personal favourites is the Tresemmé, Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Spray that also gives the hair a healthy shine.

3 The Iridescent Holographic Hair

There have been many coloured hair trends from pastel colours, rainbow hair to unicorn shades it's the time for the iridescent holographic hair to shine.

It's all about having multidimensional glistening hair with pastel or metallic hues. It creates iridescent colour-shifting hair strands on the wearer giving a 3-dimensional look.

If you want to go for a dramatic change why not try this hair colour trend out. This is an out of the box look and is so pretty. I'm not sure how easily this will be achievable on darker hair without having in bleached.

4 The Bridget Bardot Bangs

If you're looking for effortlessly chic style, the shaggy eye length Bridget Bardot fringe is for you. It is a versatile style complimenting any hair length and texture. The Bardot Bangs is a quick style update and easy to manage.

Alexa Chung is the queen of the outgrown bangs. Chole Grace Moretz has also been supporting the look. This is an easy to follow tutorial on how to style these Bangs.

5 The Tiger-eye Hair Trend at 0.39

Balayage is here to stay and was one of the hottest wearable hair trends of last year. Balayage is basically a hair colouring technique in which highlights are hand painted for a completely blended look.

In comes the Tiger- eye hair trend which is a variation of the Balayage and upgrade so to speak. It is a mixture of "tiger eye" colours from bronze, gold and dark brown hues. These colours are painted onto the hair using the Balayage technique creating a beautifully blended colour. Perfect to add warmth to your hair.

The great thing about Balayage is that it can be done at home as each strand is painted differently. This tutorial gives some good tips about doing this technique at home.

6 The High Ponytail at 0:45

The high ponytail is an easy hairstyle to put together and you can have a natural glam look within minutes. You can wear the ponytail straight or keep it tousled. Models at Brandon Maxwell supported this look at New York fashion week of spring 2017. I love Teni Panosian tutorials and she's teamed up with Garnier Fructis on how to achieve this simple but effective look.

7 The Denim Hair Colour Trend

The denim hair trend is awesome, not only because it's a creative avant-garde hair look but it is also a wearable hair colour.

Denim hair colour is made up of light and dark blue silvery hues giving it a somewhat subtle feel. If you're brave enough you can give this hair colour trend a try. Check out this DIY tutorial with some helpful tips.

These hair trends can really give your style an updated look.I love getting my hair done and experimenting with different colours and haircuts to change things up.

The trends can be mixed and matched together. You could pair the Bridget Bardot bangs with the denim hair colour. From the faux perm to the super straight hair to holographic colour, one thing is for sure 2017 is about creating different textures with your hair. These are definitely hair trends that you'll see everywhere.
