A girl’s hair is like a signature of her style, and often times, ours just doesn’t work with us like we want it to! 1

Part It Differently

This is one of the safest and easiest ways to get out of a hair rut that won’t cost you a dime. Just parting your hair differently can make a huge difference in the way it looks. If you don’t part it at all, consider trying. While you’re at it, add some curls with a curling iron to your locks to enhance the flow of your part, which also helps add definition to your face.

2

Add a Touch of Color

If you’re not up for coloring your hair, try just adding in some lowlights or highlights. Coloring your whole head may be too much of a change for you, and that’s totally okay! Getting just a touch of color can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself and how your hair looks. I especially like going lighter in the spring and summer and a little darker in the fall and winter.

3

Get a New Cut

Obviously, one of the easiest and most effective ways to get out of a hair rut is to get a new cut. Just be careful when you choose this option since there’s no going back. One safe way to do this is to get just a few inches cut off and then see how you like the length. If you’re still looking for a bigger change, then you can always go shorter if you want.

4

Add Extensions

While I’m all about embracing natural hair, and don’t wear extensions myself, I can’t deny they’re an easy and safe way to add something extra special to your hair and change things up a bit. Be sure to pick a shade that matches your hair color and try on several brands to make sure you get a high quality one.

5

Add Some Personal Flair

One great way to get yourself out of a hair rut is to add some flair to your style. Try a new headband, or a cute set of clips. Sometimes, we just need something different to put in our hair instead of changing our hair’s color or style.

Curl It

If you don’t curl your hair, try it! I love curling my hair when I don’t feel like pulling out my straightening iron, and my hair holds up better with hot rollers even better than a curling iron. It makes your hair look super soft and flowing, which is always a good way to change things up!

Try a Different do

Here’s another free way to get yourself out of a hair rut: just fix it differently! Try a cool new braid, a new ponytail style, or pin it up on the sides for a feminine touch. Look on YouTube and the web for new hair trends this year. There are a ton out there to try, and they’re all so pretty!

Do you get tired of your hair easily? I know I do! If you have any tips to share with me for ways to get out of a hair rut, don’t hold back, girls. I want to hear them!
