3. Your Hair Will Fall out

Your Hair Will Fall out This won't happen. What does happen is that once you stop relaxing your hair, the new growth does start coming through and the area where your natural hair meets the relaxed hair will flex and weaken, so your hair may break off right there. What that means is you'll have to cut off the relaxed ends.

4. Natural Hair Breaks Most than Relaxed Hair

While it is true that pure, soft water will not dry out your hair, the presence of harsh chemicals in your water can lead to buildup in your hair. This buildup can cause your hair to become dry, dull, and brittle. It is important to use a water filter or clarifying shampoo to remove these chemicals and keep your hair healthy. Additionally, rinsing your hair with cool water after washing can help seal the hair cuticle and retain moisture. Steaming your hair can also be beneficial, as it opens up the hair follicles and allows for better absorption of products. Overall, the type and quality of water you use can greatly impact the health of your hair.

***

There is a common misconception that going natural will automatically make your hair grow longer and faster. However, this is not entirely true. While natural hair may appear longer due to the absence of chemical treatments that can cause breakage, the rate of hair growth is largely determined by genetics and overall health. Going natural can actually require more maintenance and care to keep hair healthy and promote growth. Additionally, factors such as diet, stress levels, and age can also affect hair growth. Therefore, while going natural can have many benefits, it is not a guarantee for longer and faster hair growth.

@Brittany It is a chemical that permanently straightens the hair. More commonly known as a "perm"

What is relaxer?

I love natural hair and beauty

I love the natural look but I'm still getting used to it. I didn't have to do the "big chop", i just kept my hair in Braids or crotchet. Making sure to always lubricate my scalp, wash & deep condition. Kept my hair up for 2 mos, down for 2 1/2 wks. My hair is healthy & 3 yrs w/o relaxer! Yay!! Lol.

I have been growing out my relax hair for a year and a half now. Love it would Neva go back. It does take more caring for though. :)
