Products for color treated hair — there are loads of them out there, but you need an expert to help you weed out the ones that are worthless, so you can spend your money on the ones that work. I've made it pretty clear how much I like to mess with my hair, I think, and that includes coloring it. That's all good, you just have to know how to take care of your hair if you're going to color it a lot. Knowing which products can work best can be difficult unless you've tried tons of them. I've found some amazing products for color treated hair that will hopefully make it easier for you to make a great, helpful choice!

If you dye your hair red or any variation thereof, you're definitely in need of an amazing product for color treated hair. Red fades the fastest, so you can be left having to touch up your hair every three weeks or so, and that's super damaging. Instead, try ShiKai's Henna Gold shampoo – and the accompanying conditioner. It does wonders for keeping those red shades vibrant!

This product is amazing. It contains no alcohol and plenty of antioxidants, and it is fantastic if your hair is at all dry and damage. It kills frizz, gets rid of fly away pieces, and if you spend a lot of time coloring your hair, it leaves it with a healthy, vibrant shine.

Bed Head has a whole line of shampoos, conditioners, and other products designed to help with dyed and color treated hair. The Colour Combat line is incredible, and the shampoo is an especially amazing product for color treated hair. Blond or brunette, you can easily find something for you – and it will work beautifully.

When you have color treated hair, it's important to keep it shiny. You don't have to spend a fortune to do that, either. Clairol actually has my favorite shine booster product, and as you can see, it doesn't cost a lot. This stuff works a bit like hair dye in its application, and it will leave your hair with a gorgeous sheen, no matter how many times you've colored it. This is hands-down one of my favorite products for color treated hair!

John Frieda has a lot of products meant especially for color treated hair, including glazes – which you should check out; I just didn't want to include too many of his products on the list! Besides, his shampoos – and complementary conditioners – tie in with the glazes. There are products for blonds, brunettes, and redheads (if you're lucky enough to find those), and they can all help keep your color from fading while making sure your hair stays healthy.

This is another fantastic product for color treated hair. Like the name implies, it goes deep to treat hair that's been damaged by a lot of coloring – not to mention a lot of blow drying, curling, straightening, and heat. Since it's a mask, it gets much deeper than other products, and the results are fantastic.

Blond can be a hard color to keep. It's not as hard as red, of course, but your roots still start to show pretty early, and the blond color can darken. That's why this is such an amazing product for color treated hair. It will help keep your blond locks sunny and bright, without too much chemical interference.

Finally, there are some Kerastase Reflection products. This is the shampoo and, as you can see, it's quite a bit pricier than the other products – but it's well worth the price. It makes your hair shiny, it's extremely gentle, and it reverses the damage that can be caused by a lot of coloring – plus it smells absolutely amazing.
There are some really amazing products for color treated hair out there, but you have to be careful when choosing among them. You have to consider your hair type, and what you've done to color it. For instance, dyeing it a darker color is much different from bleaching it. Which products for color treated hair do you use on your locks to keep them healthy?
