1. Gets Rid of Product Build up

One of the most important reasons to use a clarifying shampoo is that it gets rid of product build up. If you use oils on your hair or any type of styling product, it is essential to use a clarifying shampoo to cleanse your hair. This ensures your hair will always look its best. When to use a clarifying shampoo differs for each person. Pay attention to when you’re hair gets greasy more often, isn’t styling right, or feels oily. These are all signs it is time to clarify your tresses.

2. Keep Your Color Fresher

Clarifying shampoos only keep your hair color fresher if the formula is color safe! If you find your color fading or looking dingy, it could be because of product build up and a simple wash with a clarifying shampoo could be all you need to freshen up your color. I am a bottle blonde so I use a color-safe clarifying shampoo when my hair starts looking brassy and it works great!

3. Strips Your Color

Conversely, a clarifying shampoo can also strip your color. So if you’re tired of the purple streak you tried out for fun over spring break, a clarifying shampoo can help strip the color. This can really come in handy if you want to try out a new color as well.

4. Helps Lock-in Moisture

Clarifying shampoos can aid in moisturizing your hair by making your tresses more susceptible to conditioner. Once your hair is clean, your conditioning products will moisturize your hair even better. So if you struggle with dry hair, be sure to incorporate a clarifying shampoo into your beauty routine.

5. Cleanses Your Hair after Swimming

With summer quickly approaching, I want to stress the benefits a clarifying shampoo can have after your hair has been for a swim. Whether you visit the ocean or a pool, you are going to be exposed to compounds and chemicals that are going to affect the health of your hair. Chlorine and salt can alter your hair's appearance and change the way it looks and fixes. Also, hair can turn green after exposure to chlorine. These issues can all be avoided by clarifying your hair after taking a dip!

6. Makes Products More Effective

Clarifying your hair periodically will make your other hair products more effective. Your styling products will all make a bigger impact on your locks. Everything works better with a clean slate – including your hair!

7. Preps Your Hair

Just like I mentioned above, your hair takes to products and styling tools better when it is clean. That is why it is important to clarify your hair before your next salon visit. If you color your hair, it will hold better. You’ll probably even get a better hair cut out of the deal! To get the most out of your trip to the salon, clarify before you go.

So if you’re looking to get the most out of your hair, you need to consider incorporating a clarifying shampoo into your routine. It will make your hair healthier and make styling much easier. Styling is easier on hair that isn't clean lol

Actually, most stylists prefer dirtier hair because the oils grip to the color better than clean hair would! In terms of cutting though I'm not sure how clarifying can better your end result.

Make sure to use a sulfate free clarifier especially if u have color treated hair!!

Hey Yazmoon, I can't recommend Healthy Skin for a Happy Life enough. You should try it if you're looking for a good shampoo plus they're giving away free samples

Great tips! Some DIY include mixing 1 tbsp baking soda to 2 tbsp shampoo (not tried this).A few weeks ago I did a mix of 1:1 cider vinegar to water and applied it as a rinse before conditioning.

Which clarifying shampoos do u recommend please, thanks xx
