You Don’t Need to Own a Brush

Any girl with curly hair will tell you that a brush is their biggest enemy. When you brush curls, they tend to poof out and give you a frizzy mess on top of your head. If you have curls, you know that you should only comb them or use your fingers to get them into shape. Use a wide-toothed comb for the best results.

2

You’ve Got to Stock up on Conditioner

Curly hair can be tough to wrangle into place, so chances are you use lots of conditioner compared to girls with straight hair. Because you’re using so much more of it, it pays to choose one that is formulated for curly locks. Doing so helps ensure that you get perfect curls that fall just right every time. You might also consider a conditioner for volume so you curls don’t fall flat.

You Can’t Just Wake up and Go

When you have straight hair, you can likely give it a brush and you’re good to go. That’s not the case with curly hair. When I get up in the morning, my hair is generally all over the place and needs some care to get it into shape. I’ve mastered my routine so it doesn’t take too long, but you certainly can’t sleep until the last minute if you have curls.

It’s Hard to Find the Bobby Pins You Put in This Morning

If you have curly hair, you’ve probably stood in the bathroom patting your head all over, trying to find the bobby pins you know you put in this morning before you left the house. I don’t know how many times I’ve been in the shower and come across a stray bobby pin or barrette when I wash my hair. Has that ever happened to you?

Rainy Days Strike Fear into Your Heart

I usually let my curls do their thing (with some help from curl cream), but I straighten my bangs because I think they look more polished that way. When it rains, I freak out a little because the moisture and humidity totally mess up my bangs and make them look silly. If I know rain is on the horizon, I clip my bangs back to avoid a bad hair day.

You Can’t Always Pull off a Top Knot or Messy Bun

Both of these styles are super cute and are perfect for keeping your hair out of your face. However, if you have curly hair, the styles are harder to manage and they never look as cute as you want them to. I still go for the bun once in a while, but it’s never on a day where I feel that great about my hair. If you have curly hair and have mastered the messy bun, please tell me how you get it done.

Curly Hair Takes Longer to Dry than Straight Hair

Here’s my secret for getting around this. I shower at night so my hair has until morning to dry. This allows my curls to fall naturally, which makes it easier to style in the morning and keeps me from having to spend an hour blow drying my curls.

Do you have curly hair? What would you add to this list?

All true but wouldn't change it if I could

I've tried many shampoos and conditioners over the years. It good to experiment with the ones you use and try out new ones as they react to your hair different in the summer to the winter.

I can totally relate

So true

I want curly hair so bad! Lol no matter what the negative are! I've always loved curly versus straight! Anyways, I use a wand and curl my hair and I've noticed that it's so much easier and looks a lot cuter after I curl it, rather than trying with my straight hair! Maybe it's because I make my curls?!

I didn't get to finish... I am talking about doing a bun or top knot, they always turn out better after I curl my hair! When I do it with my straight hair they look really bad haha

And as we know what hair product or frizz serum may work for one person may not necessary work for another. Also again it's to do with the climate. I can get away with wearing beanies and berets in the winter if I don't want to deal with the curls.

ah, i disagree with #3 straight hair isn`t THAT easy

Curly hair is soooo hard to work with but buns can turn out pretty cute, so therefore I disagree on that one :))

Love love love my curly hair! And messy buns
