7 Tips for Growing out Your Hair when It's Dry and Damaged ...

So, you’re looking for tips for growing out your hair. You’ve come to the right place. I consider growing out my hair to be a hobby of mine, and one of my longest hobbies at that, considering I’ve been growing out my hair since a haircut accident nearly a decade ago. As a result, I’ve been collecting some of the best tips for growing out your hair for just as long too. If you’re looking to grow out your hair, look no further than this list!

1. Switch Your Shampoo

Although I’ve been actively trying to grow my hair out for almost a decade, changing my shampoo a few months ago really made a huge difference. I switched my shampoo to “Not Your Mother’s Way to Grow Long and Strong Shampoo,” and although I was skeptical at first, I really did notice a difference. Switching shampoo is one of the easiest tips for growing out your hair that I've found so far, but it's taken me years to implement it. Find a shampoo that specializes in hair growth, and not only will your hair grow, but it will become so much stronger.

2. Skip the Heat

If it worried you that I’ve been growing my hair out for nearly a decade, this tip will clarify everything. I have hair that dries straight, yet for years I spent every morning wrecking it with my blowdryer and flat iron. If you can go without your heat tools, even just one day a week, you will instantly notice your hair start to repair itself.

3. Amp up Your Vitamins

Even if you already take a daily multivitamin, add folic acid or biotin to the mix. Not only will you notice your hair and nails start to grow exponentially, but you’ll also notice your skin start to glow and clear up from any acne! I usually hate taking vitamins and can never remember, but with benefits like those, how can you not love taking your vitamins?

4. Get a Haircut

I am usually the first to say that the “get a haircut if you want to grow your hair” tip is not true, but if your hair is truly dry and damaged, a haircut may be exactly what you need. Eventually, when your hair is nice and long, you’re not going to want the dry, damaged ends anyway. You’ll want your hair to look as healthy as possible, and cutting it is the best way to do that!

When it comes to growing out your hair, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, make sure you’re using the right hair care products for your hair type. If your hair is dry and damaged, use products specifically designed to nourish and protect your hair.

Secondly, make sure you’re getting enough protein in your diet. Protein helps to strengthen and repair your hair, so it’s important to get enough of it to help your hair grow.

Thirdly, get regular trims. Trimming your hair every 6-8 weeks helps to keep it healthy and free of split ends. This also helps it to grow faster.

Finally, consider getting a haircut. This may sound counterintuitive, but if your hair is dry and damaged, a haircut can be the best way to get rid of the damaged ends and start fresh. It can also help to give your hair a boost in the growth department.

5. Treat Your Hair Nicely

Never forget to give your hair a little bit of TLC. Condition your hair daily, but don’t forget to use a deep conditioner at least once a week. You’ll notice a difference in your hair’s smoothness after your first use, and you’ll be hooked. I like to condition my hair daily, use a deep conditioner once a week, but also use a leave-in conditioner and detangler spray everyday. If you have to dedicate a night to a “pamper hair evening,” do it. Do whatever you need to do to stick to a healthy hair routine!

6. Change Your Diet

It sounds obvious, but it’s easy to forget about. We often don’t think about healthy hair when we’re about to eat lunch at our favorite restaurant. Trade a greasy burger for grilled chicken or salmon. The healthier your diet, the healthier your hair will look and feel!

7. Drink Water

Water is another necessity for both general health and hair growth that we so often forget about. If you have a problem remembering to drink enough water everyday, you could download an app to track your intake and remind you when you need another glass or two!

What are your hair growth tips? I’m always looking for new ways to grow my hair, so let me know in the comments!

Can anyone help me with my hair please I just want it to be long??!!!;(

Do yah no what it's called to grow out ??

Healthy Skin for a Happy Life makes the best shampoo for growing your hair!!! All natural no sulfates nothing artificial.

You don't have to frequently cut or trim your hair to make it grow longer....some of us have long, healthy hair already....trimming won't make your hair grow, it just removes damage....so if you have healthy hair already, it makes no sense to take scissors to it frequently

Do not try biotin. It breaks you out bad & isn't worth it. It doesn't help with growing hair out either.

Hi everyone, I grow my hair, by washing it twice in a week, and before that I soak it with coconut oil for 30 minutes, and then once it elapses, I wash it off and condition, once my hair gets dried, I braid it, after three days, I lose the braids, and comb my hair will grow out so full

@Ashely. What shampoo do you use?

what's the app called for water drinking?????

I only wash my hair twice per week. Before one wash, I cover my hair in coconut oil and let it sit for 2 hours. Before the other wash, I cover my scalp in mustard powder and egg and let it sit for 30 min. If I went swimming, I wash the chemicals out of my hair right away, and put a smaller amount of coconut oil in my hair after I wash it, while it's still wet. It makes it so soft, and not greasy as long as I avoid the roots.
