7 Ways to Switch up Classic Hairstyles for School ...

By Teresa

When I think of my hairstyles in school, I think of the most classic hairstyles for school, used over and over again for years. By the time I hit high school, I was sick of the monotony. These twists on classic hairstyles for school became some of my favorite go-to hairstyles. Some are so simple, but look like you spent hours creating the perfect hairstyle. Believe me: your friends will be asking you for tips by the end of the week when you try these hairstyles!

Polished Sock Bun

Polished Sock Bun If you’re in middle school or high school, messy buns are most likely your go-to hairstyle when you’re in a hurry. No matter what your hair looks like in the morning, your trusty messy bun is always available when you need it. Rather than go for one of the most classic hairstyles for school, though, you could try a more polished and sleek look with a simple sock bun!

2

Sophisticated Pony Tail

Sophisticated Pony Tail Ponytails are perfect for long, busy days, but they definitely aren’t the cutest. To transform a boring ponytail into a cute look for school, try leaving a piece of hair to wrap around your ponytail. If you want to take it one step further, braid a piece of hair and wrapping it around the rubber band. There are so many different variations of this classic style!

3

Learn New Braids

Learn New Braids When I was in high school, learning a few different braids completely transformed my morning routine. No matter how late I was running, I could always depend on a braid to pull an entire look together. Whether you learn a fishtail braid, an inverted fishtail braid, or something else completely different, learning a new braid will look like you’re putting a ton of effort in, even on your busiest days.

4

Try No-Heat Curls

Try No-Heat Curls As someone with naturally straight hair, I always loved switching it up and curling my hair on occasion. However, that takes a little bit of work and a lot of planning. These days, with the help of Pinterest, there are so many no-heat, virtually no-work curly hairstyles that you can try out, that it’s hard to resist.

5

Go Accessory Crazy

Go Accessory Crazy Depending on your school’s dress code, you could technically change an entire look with a few simple accessories. If you can go crazy with bows, headbands, hats, or anything else that suits your liking, you will have one of the quickest hairstyles up your sleeves at all time!

Try an Updo

Try an Updo If I had had Pinterest in middle school, I would currently be a professional at updos. Alas, that was not the case, but there is still time for you. Pick out your favorite Pinterest updos and get to work on mastering them. You’ll always have hairstyles to go to when you have an important event, but they can also completely change up your school look!

7

Go Completely Natural

Go Completely Natural This is probably terrifying to most people, and I can say with confidence that this would have terrified me in high school, but if you have the hair texture for it, try it out! Even if you don’t have the hair texture for it, experiment with styling products and techniques that could allow you to go completely natural! It might be scary at first, but you may just love it!
