1. Highlights
Instead of dyeing your hair, you can highlight those pretty strands in an easy way. Simply soak a cotton ball in the lemon juice, place it on the strands you want highlighted, and slide it down gently. Repeat it a few times to see effects. This can be one of the simplest ways to lighten your hair.
2. Scrub
Take advantage of a lemon scrub. It’s a great way to remove the build up and lingering residue of styling products. These materials can make your hair feel heavy. Get one-half of a fresh lemon and dip it into salt. Now, rub it very gently into your scalp to get rid of any buildup of harmful materials.
3. Hair Growth
Are you always on the lookout for an effective way to grow your hair longer, more quickly? Go get a few lemons and some castor oil. Prepare a solution by mixing lemon juice and castor oil in equal quantities. Apply it directly into the roots of your hair to promote hair growth.
4. Dandruff
You may have already tried a number of ways to get rid of dandruff, but the chances are you're still looking for a better solution. Simply use lemon on your hair! Take a lemon and rub it over the scalp to get rid of dandruff. Doing this will also make the roots stronger. This will also prove beneficial as a way to treat itchy scalp. Be sure to repeat it only once a week to prevent breakage of your hair.
5. Stronger Hair
Are you concerned about hair loss? You can strengthen your hair by using a solution of henna, egg yolk, and lemon. Use it with your regular shampoo but be sure to apply towards the scalp to have stronger and shinier hair. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
6. Shiny Hair
Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice, a tablespoon of honey, and a couple of tablespoons of olive oil together to make your very own hair shine mask at home. This mixture will work better than most haircare products you find in the stores. Apply the mixture directly onto your scalp and massage for a few minutes. Then, soak the rest of your strands with the mixture and leave it there for half an hour. Now, rinse it off and use shampoo if you want.
7. Unclog Follicles
Dealing with oily hair can become quite annoying at times. No matter what you do, you cannot seem to get rid of that excess oil. You have oily hair because of your clogged hair follicles, so you have to do something to unclog them. Again, lemons will help! Simply make a mixture by adding a tablespoon of lemon juice to a tablespoon of egg white and apply it to your oily scalp. Leave it there for half an hour and wash it off with water.
Your hair will thank you and you will soon be singing the praises of lemons. These are jolly good reasons to always throw lemons in your shopping cart, don’t ya think?

Stace: @Amy N: lemons can highlight dark hair but turns the highlights an orange or reddish color as when dark hair lightens it will lift to orange first. So you may need to use a toner to remove the "brassiness" from your hair. Also lemons can make hair very dry, so it's best to follow up with a deep conditioner.

Kailee: Tried Viviscal hair supplements and they worked on my hair length, grew faster, hair lashes and brows were thicker as for a thicker head of hair, ah, NOPE. I used these supplements for 10 months, holy expensive, yes hair grew faster (everywhere) but I also reacted with cysts acne and stopped Viviscal. Weighing the pros and cons, I wouldn't recommend these hair supplements. I guess why I posted this is to say that there ARE ways to make your hair grow faster but would you be willing to suffer the side effects?
AJ: So..I have natural highlights and sort of blond hair but how do I get darker hair?
Kenzlivengood: I don't know about lemon lightening hair but I crush vitamin c pills add them to a cup of how ever much shampoo that you normally use and apply it generously and massage into your scalp make sure to do it in dry hair then let it sit with a shower cap of some sort over it for up to two hours then shampoo and condition as you normally would directly afterwards then dry and hair will be lighter I personally know that this works because I have done it multiple times I told my stylist about it and she told me that it basically strips your hair and acts as a malibu as she put it and said that it basically injects nutrients protein and vitamins into your hair so it is actually good for your hair and doesn't cause damage of any sort so that's what I personally use that works REALLY REALLY well but that is the only thing I have tried that actually works
Alyx: Lemon is horrid for hair. It causes breakage, can cause burns to the scalp, and makes it impossible for your stylist to take care of it. If you have any hint of red tones in your hair it'll just turn orange, and it's likely not toneable without tons of developer and multiple times. Just bleach it. Any diy lightening with your hair will be uneven, and make your hair dry and unfixable. Just bleach it if you want it lighter. Go to a professional and it won't damage your hair more than a few deep conditioning treatments and a trim can't fix. If you want to deep clean, use a clarifying shampoo once a month. If you want your hair to grow, take care of it. Lemons nor oils will actually help it grow. Growth is based on genetics. There's nothing you can do to speed it up.
Cindy: I still prefer lemons on fish , thank you. LOL, I use blackstrap molasses on my hair, its amazing to make hair stronger , thicker and let it grow faster! Must be all the concentrate of minerals. Try you will never look back
