Hair is easier to style on the 2nd day. You’ve already got product in from day 1 which gives your hair a bit of grit. It’s easier to work with. On the flip side, freshly washed hair can be tricky to work with. It can slip out of your hands because it’s so clean. 2nd day hair has the advantage when it comes to ease of styling.

Hair that isn’t freshly washed has more of a natural shine. It’s true that it can look greasy at your roots and I hate that look too! However, a few sprays of dry shampoo can deal with that problem. This allows you to extend the time you can go between washing your hair. Dry shampoo is also a great styling aid and nice to have on hand. I’ve even used it on freshly washed hair before to give it more hold.

Not washing your hair everyday is healthy for it. Washing too often can cause it to become dry because it strips the natural oils away before they can offer any benefits. Your hair also gets more damage from daily blow dry sessions. After I started skipping a day in between washing my hair I started noticing that my hair seemed healthier. 2nd day hair holds curl longer than freshly washed hair. You can thank the product from day 1 for that. It’s got a much better texture to work with on day 2. I curled my 2nd day hair yesterday and received several compliments on it throughout the day. If I had curled it when it was freshly washed then it would have fallen flat by lunch.

When you aren’t washing your hair every day then you can afford to spend a little more on your hair products. Having a high quality shampoo and conditioner can help you to have healthier hair. It may even be easier to style or look prettier. High end shampoos and conditioners usually are a little better quality but I also have my favorites in the drugstore variety. But let’s be honest, it’s fun to splurge 💵!
