Caring for curly hair can sometimes feel like a chore, but it’s actually pretty awesome if you really think about it. Most people want the exact opposite of what they have. Straight-haired girls want curls or waves and curly-haired girls want straight hair, it’s always been that way. But right now, I want to celebrate curly hair and all the great things that come along with it! Embrace your curls and be proud, ladies!

1. Curly Hair is Super Versatile
One of the best benefits of having curly hair is that it is so versatile! You can wear your hair in so many different styles and it looks fab with accessories like beanies, headbands, head wraps, scarves-pretty much anything and everything! Curly hair also looks so cute braided, in a top knot or in a fierce ponytail.
2. You Stand out in a Crowd
Having curly hair also means that you will stand out in a crowd. Hey, having a head of bouncy curls pretty much guarantees that you’ll be noticed no matter where you are and that’s a good thing. Who wants to blend in with everyone-certainly not you! Your curls are big, bold and beautiful.
Frequently asked questions
3. Curly Hair is Low Maintenance
Curly locks can no doubt have a mind of their own at times, but you’ve gotta admit not having to wash your hair as often or not having to blow dry it like straight-haired gals is pretty darn awesome. Not only are you saving time and money, your hair doesn’t fall flat and boring when you don’t shampoo it-now that’s what I call winning!
4. Fewer Products
Depending on the type of hair you have, your curly tresses might not require as much product as others, which is always a plus. Hair products aren’t always cheap, plus who has time in the morning to apply a ton of products to your hair? Being able to get away with using a dime sized amount of a hair product is every girl’s dream.
5. Your Hair is Always Styled
One of the advantages of rocking a head of naturally curly hair is that your hair is always styled and ready to go. You don’t have to pull out a blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron or other heat styling tool before you’re ready to go. Your hair is always on point with lots of volume and personality!
6. So Much Body
You’ll be hard pressed to find a curly haired gal who longs for more body or volume. They just got it like that, naturally. Having straight hair is cool and all, but it all too often falls flat and you end up having to tease the heck out of it in order to get just a portion of the volume and body of curly hair.
7. Curly Hair is Fun
This might sound weird, but curly hair is just more fun! It’s far from boring because you’ve got tons of curls, coils, waves and twists atop your lovely head and they have such personality. Curly hair can’t be tamed and it makes your entire look come alive.
8. Curly Hair is Unique
Although there are a great number of people who have curly hair, it’s still unique compared to the much larger number of people with straight hair. Having curly hair is unique and distinctive, just like each curl on your head. Not one curl will be the same, which makes your hair just that much more special.
9. Fewer Tangles
We already mentioned that curly hair is low maintenance, but it’s also less likely to get tangles than straight hair. Straight hair is also known to be more prone to split ends and they’re much more noticeable in straight hair than curly. Yay for curls!
10. Your Hair is Naturally Beautiful
Rocking your hair’s natural style is a beautiful thing. You were blessed with lots of bouncy curls and waves and embracing them is part of accepting all of your unique features. Think about how many people curl or create waves in their hair on a daily basis and you were just born that way!
All hair types have their ups and downs, but having curly hair is truly a beautiful blessing! Be proud of all the quirks and perks of having wild curls because there are many people who would love to be in your shoes! What do you like best about having curly hair?
