1

Sucked Dry

You know all too well that natural hair is prone to dryness. When your product looses its potency it leaves your hair feeling dry and a little crunchy. To remedy a day zapped of all possible moisture spritz your hair with a mixture of distilled water and leave-in conditioner.

2

Frayed Mess

When our kinky/coily hair is damaged the ends split, loose their pattern and stick out at odd angles. This means it is time for a trim. Use hair-cutting scissors to snip off a few damaged ends – sparingly. Spritz hair with a conditioning mix and scrunch in some natural oil. This will help until you can get a full trim.

3

Stuck in Messy Town

Short on time? Start with the familiar go-to two-step method – spritz hair with water and scrunch in a little product. Finish the look with a smart hair band. The water and product calms your kinks and coils; the hair band ties it all together in a purposeful look.

4

No Shape

After much prepping your twist out is just not cooperating. Or, better yet, you have bed head. Hang in there. Emulsify a dollop of moisturizing curl cream and twist hair in medium sections all over. Finally, grab a pick and lift those roots. Move quickly and you are out the door in short order.

5

Uneven

Having a bad hair day that transforms your artfully arranged locks into a kinky/coily patchwork puzzle? (*raises hand*) Don't fight it. Instead, spritz hair with distilled water. Use a wide-tooth comb to lift your roots and fluff hair evenly all over. Scrunch in a little shine serum and you are good to go.

6

White Residue

Product love is a good thing unless they are layered too thickly or have ingredients that do not work well together. Either weighs down your hair and leaves behind a gummy white residue. Spritz your hair thoroughly, finger comb your locks then use an old t-shirt to gently remove the residue and squeeze dry your strands.

7

Little Time, Little Cover

If your short natural hair is long enough, gather at the back. Pin in place and cover with a bit of Marley hair to create a faux bun. Apply a light layer of moisturizing gel. Tie on a scarf for about one minute to smooth sides.

8

Cover It Completely

Sometimes you just cannot tackle a bad hair day right away. If you are really short on time and the hair situation is a little too much to handle then call it a wrap, for now. Cover your tresses with a scarf, turban or wig until you can address the situation in full-force.

9

Start over

If time is not an issue then use the day to take control of the situation. Start over. Take your time with each step, examining your routine from start to finish. Perhaps you will spot the point where things went awry so future sessions end differently.

Bad hair days happen. You cannot always predict when it will happen but you can address the situation when it does. Embrace the challenge. Do what you can and go about your day with confidence. Tomorrow is a new day with untold possibilities. AND YOU ROCK! How do you handle short natural bad hair days?
