There are so many amazing heat-free hairstyles for when your hair needs a break from all of the different heat products you use! You curl your hair one day, flat iron it the next; heat hairstyling products are never-ending. Sometimes you need to give your hair a break, but it can be hard to think of new and fresh heat-free hairstyles! Even if you don’t need a heat break, sometimes you just don’t have the time to style your hair with heat products, and these hairstyles are perfect for that too. Hopefully these hairstyles will give you a go-to style whether you need a heat break or are just in a rush!
1 Sock Bun
Sock buns are not only one of the most perfect heat-free hairstyles; they’re an easy on-the-go style! To put your hair in a sock bun, you take a clean sock you can’t find the match to (we all know how easy those are to find), and cut the toe off. You roll it into a donut shape and then roll your hair around the donut! There are tutorials all over YouTube that go into greater detail and if you just can’t get it right they sell the hair donuts in all accessory and beauty stores!
Frequently asked questions
2 Sock Bun Curls
Sock bun curls are almost as easy as a sock bun. You just sleep in your sock bun and take it out the next morning. Add some hairspray upon releasing your curls from the sock bun and you’re left with amazing volume and insane curls that last all day! It’s a beautiful hairstyle but it takes a little bit of planning the night before! It’s perfect for a heat-free day but more difficult to do on a whim, unfortunately.
3 Fishtail Braid
Fishtail braids are quick and easy! You separate your hair into two sections and add tiny pieces from each side to the other side. If my stellar description doesn’t make sense, YouTube tutorials explain it worlds better than I ever could. They also have amazing tips to help you perfect your fishtail braid. You’ll be fishtail-braiding in no time!
4 Bow Bun
This bun is so easy that I don’t even need to send you to watch YouTube tutorials! Just put your hair in a messy bun, leave a piece out, and pin that piece in the middle of the bun to create a "bow" look. It’s perfect for a morning you’re running late, or a morning you just can’t be bothered to do anything with your hair. We’ve all been there!
5 Headbands and Scarves
Headbands and scarves hide any hair imperfections or mishaps! If you don’t have time to do your hair, or need to give your hair a heat break, you can easily hide your hair with a big headband or scarf and no one will be the wiser!
6 Natural Hair
Don’t be afraid of your natural hair! Whether it’s curly, wavy, or pin straight, find a way to tame it without heat that works for you! As long as it’s clean, brushed, and you feel comfortable with it, don’t be shy! You may love your new natural style so much you’ll never want to regularly use heat on your hair again!
7 Braided Headband
This style is so easy and there are a few different ways you can do it! You can take a chunk of your hair from behind your ear and braid it across to the other side of your head, or you can go the even easier route! They sell braided headbands at almost all hair, beauty, and accessory stores. Just find one that matches your hair color as closely as you can and you’re good to go! You’ll look like you have an intricate hairstyle but in reality you just have a headband on!
