Heatless Ways to Get Straight Hair for Girls Who Always Struggle with Frizz ...

Heatless ways to get straight hair give your hair a break. Sometimes a girl just wants to forgo the curls and waves and wear straight hair for a day or two. There’s no shame in it, but we all know the heat from a blow dryer or flat iron can cause unwanted damage to our hair. Luckily, I’ve put together this list on how to straighten hair without heat so you can have the sleek straight locks you crave without the damage.

1. Natural Straightening Mask

I’ve never tried this before, but a friend suggest making a hair mask of milk and honey to straighten hair. You mix one cup of milk with one tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture to your hair and let it sit for an hour. After an hour, wash it out. Continually use the mask a couple of times a week to slowly relax the hair.

2. Hair Bands

When you want to wake up with curls you braid your hair, right? So when you want to wake up with straight hair you can section off hair into small, low ponytails. Place several low ponytails around the base of the neck. Tie together with loose hairbands to not leave dents in the hair. Place more bands down the length of each section to get straight hair from root to end.

3. Brush Your Hair Dry

When you are done washing your hair, get out as much moisture as possible with a towel. Now you are going to let your hair air dry. Continue to brush your hair straight as it dries. The constant brushing will keep it from curling up as it normally does.

4. Roll It!

Get the largest rollers you can find. The larger the better, really. Wrap small sections of hair around each roller and secure tightly to the head. Let the hair dry completely before taking the rollers out. This might be best to do first thing in the morning when you will be home for most of the day and want straight hair for an evening out.

5. Wrap around

This one seems a little weird, but it works really well. Start by combing all your hair to one side. Secure your hair to your head with bobby pins. Wrap the length of the hair around your head and continue to secure with bobby pins. Finally wrap your head with a silk scarf to reduce frizz while you sleep.

6. Dry with Cool Air

This might seem like cheating a little, but it’s still heat free. Your blow dryer should have a cool setting. This means it blows cooler air instead of heat. It actually works really well on getting straight hair when combined with a round brush. Give it a try.

7. Chemically Straighten

I don’t really suggest this option, but it’s out there if you want to go that route. A chemical straighten is similar to a perm but instead of adding curls and body, it will leave you with straight hair. If you are considering something like this, talk to your stylist. Don’t try to do it on your own.

As you can see, girls with curls and waves have just as many no heat options for straight hair as other girls do for curls. What are some ways you’ve managed to get straight hair without using the blow dryer or flat iron?

The honey just weighs down the hair, it does more harm in the long run since it can put to much stress on the roots causing breakage right near the scalp.

I'm bored with typical black American hair and ice always dreamed on having the Asian straight kind of hair.I opt for the last option (it's the only option besides using a heat straightener).I did something called a "protein mask" which is like a perm and it'll keep your straight for several months.I heard it's the best kind of thing for black hair now.Ive had it on my head for two weeks now with my new blonde and brunette highlights.Cant wait for my friends to see it back home!

Drying hard with the towel will damage the hair and don't wash it every day either

I should really try some of these because my hair is damaged from all the straightening

And who is the girl in the pic? She is gorgeous

my hair has been chemically straightened throughout the years

None of these work for actual curly hair

I would not try several of these as the first rule of curly girl club is don't comb once the hair is dry.

Brushing your hair while wet damages your hair

#5 wrap around really works, even for the curliest of hairs
