7 Nontoxic Shampoos That Are Great for Your Hair and the Environment ...

There are a surprising number of toxic ingredients in shampoo, which is why using a nontoxic shampoo is a good idea. Most shampoos contain harmful endocrine disruptors that can cause thyroid problems, reproductive problems, and growth problems. Also, many shampoos contain ingredients that are harmful to the environment like sulfates, which have a negative impact on aquatic environments. Because of these health and environmental problems that can occur from ingredients in shampoo, switching to a nontoxic shampoo is a great alternative. Fortunately, there are many great choices.

Soap for Goodness Sake

Soap for Goodness Sake Soap for Goodness Sake is a company that is located in Oklahoma and makes organic, hand-made soaps and shampoo bars. Until recently, I had never heard of shampoo bars; however, they are a great choice if you are looking for nontoxic shampoo. The shampoo bars made by Soap for Goodness Sake have very few ingredients. For example, the Babassu Shampoo and Body Bar has water and babassu oil. Clearly, it is very pure. The only note the company makes about shampoo bars is they tend to work best for people with shorter hair and soft water. If you don’t fit into that category do not despair. There are plenty of other options.

Miessence Miessence is a nontoxic shampoo that is made in Australia. There are several different types of shampoo in the Miessence line, each helpful for different hair needs. The shampoos are all made from plant extracts and are very safe, even for children. Miessence shampoos are made with natural plant extracts, making them a great choice for those looking to reduce their exposure to harsh chemicals found in other shampoos. The shampoos are also free from sulfates, parabens, and other synthetic fragrances and dyes, making them a great choice for those with sensitivities. Miessence shampoos are also vegan and cruelty-free, so you can feel good about using them.

Miessence shampoos are also incredibly versatile. They offer a variety of formulas to suit different hair types, including shampoos for dry, damaged, and color-treated hair. They also have anti-dandruff, volumizing, and clarifying shampoos. Additionally, their shampoos are suitable for all ages, including children.

In addition to the benefits of using Miessence shampoos, they are also good for the environment. The shampoos are biodegradable and contain no harsh chemicals that can pollute the environment. Plus, Miessence uses sustainable, renewable ingredients, which helps reduce their carbon footprint.

Intelligent Nutrients PureLuxe Shampoo

Intelligent Nutrients PureLuxe Shampoo Intelligent Nutrients is founded by the man responsible for Aveda, Horst M. Rechelbacher. With an interest in natural cosmetics, beauty products, and hair care spanning decades, he shifted focus to Intelligent Nutrients in the late 1990s. Face Naturals

Face Naturals The shampoos made by Face Natures are free of any toxic ingredients that are harmful and could strip hair of natural oils. Face Naturals uses very simple ingredients, which include coconut oil, safflower oil, olive oil, essential oils, guar gum, and vegetable glycerin. There are 6 different shampoos, including the divine sounding acai berry and lime. One unique aspect about Face Naturals is they will custom blend skin care products, which isn’t relevant to shampoo but still worth mentioning.
