1. Deep Conditioning Treatments

Even though Asian hair might be thick, that doesn’t mean that it can’t get super dry. That’s actually one of the most common problems with this type of hair and a deep conditioning treatment a week can work wonders! For me, it’s all about Paul Mitchell, but what do you guys use?

2. Careful Coloring

Asian hair typically does not take color all that well. This is something to keep in mind if you have really dark hair and you’re looking to go blond. It might take you a long time to get to that platinum blond state and once you do; your hair could be extremely dry and fragile. Just beware, if you are coloring, go to an expert!

Frequently asked questions

3. Trimming Hair

Typically, this type of hair, because it is so thick is worn long. Asian hair is one of different types of hair that will grow and grow without any problems at all – unlike my hair! So ladies, even if you do want to keep your tresses long, make sure you cut off the dead ends once in a while, it’ll keep your hair looking beautiful and split-end free!

4. Comb with a Wide Tooth Comb

Another way you can actually get rid of split heads is by not using a brush right when you get out of the shower. Instead, when your hair is wet, why not use a wide tooth comb? What this does is actually help keep your hair, while it’s still in its fragile wet state from damaging further because you are trying to pull out those tangles. This works on any hair type too!

5. No Conditioned Roots

Your body actually makes natural oils at your scalp, so when you really think about it, why do you need to condition your roots? Instead, concentrate on conditioning the ends of your hair and everything but your roots. This’ll make all of the difference, I promise!

6. Blot

Remember when I said that your hair is super fragile when you get out of the shower? Well ladies, instead of rubbing your hair in a towel, why not blot it? This is a great way to ensure that you aren’t damaging your hair further when it is wet!

7. Low on the Products

Asian hair can take products, but think about it, the more products that you use, the more you’re going to have to wash to get them out. Keep it low on the products and you’ll see a huge difference in how your hair behaves and how it looks!

8. Hair Masks

So in between all of the conditioning treatments, what about adding in a hair mask once a week? You could do an all-natural one or you could ask your stylist which one is going to work best to keep your tresses in check. For me, I use egg whites and leave them on my hair for 20 minutes. Afterwards, my hair looks awesome!

I think that Asian hair is absolutely beautiful in every way! If you have Asian hair and are looking for ways to take care of it, this is it! So ladies, how do you take care of your hair? Care to share?

This really helped! especially conditioning the ends :] Thanks! :D

oiling your hair really helps too if your hair are dry or brittle and as asian hair grow so fast it is advisable to trim them every 2 to 3 months to keep the split ends in check

Which Asian are you talking about? Asian, like China, Korea, Japan, etc. or South Asian like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, etc.? Just curious, because I'm South Asian, or does this work for both? o_O

There're so many people especially girls in Korea who have blonde or some sort of colored hair o_o I'm a brunette and naturally slightly blondish.. Hope I never dye it ;P
