Hair salon etiquette is something we don’t give a lot of thought to. But it’s an important subject. Most of us have hairdressers we love and want to keep. Knowing the ins and outs of hair salon etiquette can help to make sure that we continue having a great relationship with this very important person in our life.

1 Explain Everything You Need Done when You Make the Appointment

If you say you need a trim when you make the appointment then show up wanting a cut and color then you’re going to throw their schedule off, if they can even accommodate you. Most hairdressers won’t have a problem with you sipping a latte while they’re coloring your hair. Just be careful no stray hairs end up in your drink!

6 Be Honest about Your Satisfaction

The last thing a hairdresser wants is for a client to leave unhappy. If you tell them then there’s a good chance they can do something to help you feel more satisfied. This not only helps you love your hair but keeps your relationship strong with your hairdresser.

7 Include a Tip with Payment

However, if the hair appointment didn’t go in the direction you wanted and your hairdresser isn’t willing to work with you to fix that then you absolutely don’t have to tip. A tip is not only for good service but for good manners, too.
