1. Add a Hair Gloss to Your Washing Routine

hair, human hair color, blond, face, hairstyle, Haircare experts suggest using a hair shine, also called a gloss, every time you wash and condition your hair because it can really put the shimmer back into your strands. The product is used after your traditional products and works like a topcoat on your hair. After you apply it, blast it with cool water to seal it in and really up the shine.

2. For That Matter, Always Finish with Cool Water

hair, clothing, human positions, hairstyle, dress, Even if you don’t use a hair gloss (but why wouldn’t you?), you should always finish off your shower with a blast of cool water. It seals the cuticle of each strand, which bumps up the shine every day. To get the most benefit, you should do this for about 30 seconds. It might be a bit uncomfortable, but it will be totally worth it.

Frequently asked questions

3. Start Using a Leave-in Conditioner when You Air Dry

hair, hairstyle, braid, blond, french braid, I have curly hair so I almost always let my hair air dry. In fact, my blow dryer gets more action as a way to warm the kids after a bath than it does to dry my hair. If you air dry, using a leave-in conditioner adds some extra hydration to your hair, helping it shine just the way you want it to. If you have curls, the product also defines them more, allowing the best parts to shine through.

4. Use a Silicone Serum if You Heat Style Your Hair

hair, white, clothing, hairstyle, long hair, It’s no secret that the flat iron, curling iron and blow dryer can really do a number on your hair. They all suck out all the moisture, leaving you with dry, dull and damaged strands that don’t look or feel all that great. I’m not suggesting that you skip the heat styling because I never do that, but start using a silicone serum beforehand to help offer protection and keep your hair looking shiny and perfect.

5. You Need a round Brush with Boar Bristles

hair, face, black hair, eyebrow, nose, Why? Because this combination helps move the natural oils in your hair all throughout, which is a natural way to boost your shine. You do need a bit of your hair oils to get a nice sheen, but not so much that you have limp, greasy strands. So wash every couple of days to keep things clean, but not so often that you strip all the oils from your head.

6. Blow Dry from the Top down

hair, face, hairstyle, blond, long hair, What I mean by this is that you should hold your blow dryer at the top of your head, aiming the air down the shaft of your strands. This keeps things smoothed down from the top to the bottom, which is a totally easy way to boost the shine without much extra effort.

7. Maintain Things in between Treatments

hair, human hair color, face, blond, hairstyle, In between all this other stuff, you can do a few other things to keep your hair shiny all the time. Apply an oil treatment once a week to keep frizz at bay and add a clarifying shampoo once a month to help get rid of built-up products and really bring the shine back out.

8. Brush from the Bottom up

hair, face, clothing, hairstyle, black hair, Even though many of us seem to be in the habit of brushing our hair from top to bottom (I have done this many times as well, don't worry), this is actually a major mistake which can result in hair breakage and overall damage. To avoid this, simply start brushing your hair from the bottom to top, or backwards as what you're used to.

9. Use a Brush Suited to Your Hair Type

hair, flower, hairstyle, beauty, long hair, Did you know that different sorts of hair brushes will help achieve different things? For example, a large round brush will add volume, while a flat brush is best for a sleeker finish. However, for thicker or coarse hair you might need to invest in a tough brush that is able to handle your lovely locks!

10. Brush Your Hair Regularly

hair, hairstyle, braid, long hair, french braid, Brushing your hair on a regular basis is key, think a couple of times a day. This will help distribute natural oils throughout your hair, conditioning it, and will keep your scalp healthy. Therefore, if those oils are being evenly distributed your hair is gong to be a lot shinier, softer and smoother in both appearance and texture!

Which of these things will you be starting today?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Isn't silicon bad for your hair? Like it just look health but in fact it just cover your hair and in the inside its broken?

That's what I thought too!? My stylist tells me not to use products that contain silicon.

If you are using a good conditioner/mask. Use a clarifying shampoo 1st to take off any build up, so the conditioner can penetrate easier& deeper into your hair. Leave on as long as possible. Yes, rinse with cool water for 30-60 seconds. Make sure hair isn't soaking wet when adding your mask! Squeeze out most of the real wet water& then condition. Use a tee shirt to dry hair. Use a spray/thermal protectant deep conditioner especially on the mid to ends of hair. Use a wet brush or a big comb, wet hair is super fragile. Let air dry or wash at night. Dry the remainder in the am& style.

How the hell would i brush my hair from the bottom to the top!?
