Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I agree the model has fine hair (defined by hair strands that are thin and won't hold a curl or a bobby pin for more than an hour) but I have very fine, thin hair, and not very much of it. I have such fine, thin, sparse hair, that if I wear a pony tail, I actually get a headache because of the weight of the band and all of my hair together pull in one place is too much on my head and a headache begins to creep in within a couple hours of having it in a pony. It took me about a year to figure out what was causing these odd headaches, before I made the weight on my head connection. I've never worn my hair in a bun or ponytail again. The few times I've gone with a perm, I have to get one to two size smaller rods than my desired look because my hair relaxes so much, and those of us who have my hair type know it doesn't like to hold a curl. I have to live with tighter curls for 7 to 10 days before it relaxes to the curls I want. I went to get an "A Frame bob" hair cut a month ago because I thought it would add volume, but my stylist showed the little bit of thickness I have is in the crown area and iI would lose a lot of it with that cut, which is the opposite of what we were trying to achieve. We went with a basic bob and layers to add some volume that I can add more or less of with a roll brush and a hair dryer or a curling iron. I do not wear my hair any longer than 2 inches below my shoulder because my hair flattens against my head and always looks like I haven't brushed it in 24 hours about an hour after I brush it. ( So I brush it multiple times a day). Wearing it shorter helps give me some lift by keeping the weight off, and it doesn't flatten against my hair or get tangled as easy. I just don't think those of us who live with such a small amount of fine, thin hair can wear it long without resorting to a perm. .

You're right, this girl does not have thin hair. I have super thin fine hair. But these tips are the same ones that I am told to and they do work. I also keep my hair above the shoulders so that it doesn't weigh itself down.

this models hair is so thick! i wouldnt be able to do that hair style bc it requires so much hair! this is not good for people with thin hair!!!!

Have to agree my whole head ponytail is as thin as a pencil. I can comb my hair with a baby comb. Should've not used a hair model.

To me "thin" means the amount of hair like "thick" is the amount. Fine is texture like coarse. You can have fine thick hair, or coarse thin hair. This gal might have fine hair, but it's definately not thin! I have to use a very small hair tie and it still goes around about 4 times. The big pony tail holders go around about 10 times! please use a model that has the type of hair you are demonstrating.

when I think of "fine" or "thin" hair its hair that if you put in a pony tail the entire thickness of it maybe one inch thick.. with thin hair like that you cant really do the braided head bands since it will lay right on your head. with back combing too that (at least on me) becomes a tangled mess that there is no hiding lol I was never even able to use a bump it thing since the hair is so thin you can see the bump!
